This night, the two guys wanted “to have a night on the tiles” or “to have a blast” like you can also say, but which originally is an American expression. As they were only in Berlin on holiday they didn’t know exactly where to go. “They were really stumped”. They wanted to know if we know a place where “the joint is jumping”. We told them some places “where the party will get cooking”. They asked us to come with them. When we dismissed they told us “not to brush them off”. But they understood that we already had other plans for the evening.
They assured us that they have “enjoyed our little conversation to the full”. They used their last opportunity to teach us some phrases when we finally said good bye and “enjoy yourselves”. The really last thing they said was “Ta ra!” which means something like good bye in England.
Thank you guys… It was a pleasure!
