It was Friday evening when we decided to go to the Irish Pub in the Europa-Center in Berlin for accomplishing our “Bar Project” together. We thought it would be more fun to do it twosome.
When we arrived, it was about 8:30 pm, so not too late. Consequently, there were not so many people. In order to get an overview of the guests who were there, we chose first of all a table in a little corner, so that we had the possibility to observe everyone a little bit.
Shortly after, we noticed two guys on the bar who seemed to be friendly. So, we decided to talk to them, even if we were in the beginning a little bit hesitant. We didn’t know exactly how to find the right words in order to explain them our project, but we just began to speak to them. Therefore, after a short “small-talk” conversation including questions like “Where do you come from?” or “What are you doing in Berlin?” we did not only talk about our project, so that we had the possibility to get some funny and interesting expressions. We didn’t focus on typical English or American expressions. Our intention was to have a normal conversation and to note from time to time words or sentences.
The two guys were both from England – which was not difficult to find out because of their typical English accent – and stayed just for some days in Berlin.
